Recent PSR-NY actions March 31, 2025

12/10/24: Dr. Barton Schoenfeld spoke at a teach-in/sit-in at the state capitol in Albany for New York State’s Climate Change Superfund Act. The talk covered the intersection of fossil fuels, climate change, and public health.

2/28/25: Dr. Barton Schoenfeld testified at a session of the NYS Building Code Council regarding the pending draft energy code. He discussed the health benefits of electrification and also recommended that EV infrastructure readiness be moved from the appendix to the main body of the code, as the Climate Action Scoping Plan requires. 3/10/25: Dr. Cathey Falvo was a panelist at the UN event “FROM HEALTH TO EQUITY: WOMEN SHAPING GLOBAL PROGRESS THROUGH LEADERSHIP AND CARE”.

3/12/25: Drs. Kathy Nolan and Barton Schoenfeld each testified at a meeting of the Delaware River Basin Council. They both emphasized the extreme health impacts of fracking, commended the wise 2021 DRBC decision to ban fracking in the region, and urged the DRBC to continue the ban.
