Becca Phillips

As a Climate and Health Fellow, Becca Phillips is excited to bring her eclectic background in grassroots climate activism, clinical work, and health-related experience to PSR. Becca is pursuing joint Masters’ degrees in Public Health and Positive Health Psychology at Claremont Graduate University. She recently completed the Yale Climate Change and Health Certificate program. Becca also interned at the Greater Boston chapter of PSR, where she co-authored a policy paper about improving the built environment in Boston to reduce the health impacts of indoor heat exposure. As an organizer at Extinction Rebellion Boston, she captained a successful movement to legally declare a climate and ecological emergency in her hometown of Needham, Massachusetts, and initiated a challenge to Needham financial institutions to divest in the Line 3 pipeline. While working as a mental health specialist at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts, Becca spearheaded an ongoing campaign to ban Styrofoam containers from inpatient units. She currently serves as a fellow at Change the Chamber.

Outside of climate and health work, Becca is a licensed massage therapist and enjoys spending time outdoors, cooking vegetarian food, fiddling, and staying active. Becca received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Anthropology from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. She is passionate about applying positive psychology to empower individuals and communities to mobilize in the fight for climate and environmental justice and live healthier lifestyles that align with restorative environmental practices.
